Kansas City Chiefs player Rashee Rice was the driver of one of two speeding sports cars who left after causing a chain-reaction crash on a Dallas highway over the weekend.
Why Rice left the crash Saturday was “a good question that’s still being investigated.” Rice’s attorney, state Sen. Royce West would not elaborate. West expects charges to be filed against Rice, who was driving a Lamborghini sport utility vehicle.
West said, “He’s a young man that made a mistake,” and Rice’s “heart goes out” to those who were injured. The crash involved the Lamborghini Urus, a Chevrolet Corvette and four other vehicles and left four people with minor injuries.
Carson Wentz has signed a one-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs to be Patrick Mahomes’ backup at quarterback.
Wentz is on his fifth team in five seasons as he has made the transition from starter with the Eagles as recently as 2020 and the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Commanders the next two seasons to backup with the Los Angeles Rams last year.
He said he has accepted that for the time being he’s a backup and said that, after some trying moments last year, he’s grateful for every opportunity, even if “I’m on the sideline, wearing a hat.”
