Betty Lou (Simpson) Blankenship was born on August 9, 1949 in Alton, MO to Daniel M (Max) and Ruth Dolores (Click) Simpson. She departed this life on May 6, 2024 at the age of 74.
She is survived by her husband Bill Blankenship of 53 years. One daughter Billie Sisco, one son Brian Blankenship (Jeanine). One sister Barbara Simpson and brother Danny Simpson (Faye). Grandchildren include Cassie Shields (Harry), Hayley Qualls (Douglas), Elly Burrell, Anna Blankenship, Amy Leavey (Johnny), Austin Blankenship, Caleb Russell, Riley Blankenship, Levi Blankenship. Great grandchildren include Lilly Shields, Logan Shields, Miles Leavey, and Emmy Williams. Adopted sister Wilma Pratt. Several nieces and nephews.
She is proceeded in death by her parents and sister Becky Gibbs.
Betty was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of the Victory Freewill Baptist Church. She loved and cared for all of her grandchildren and taught them the ways of the lord. She enjoyed feeding and watching her birds; cardinals and hummingbirds were her favorite.
Funeral services will be 2pm Thursday May 9, 2024 at the Clary Funeral Home in Alton, MO with Bro. Seth Huddleston and Bro. Bob Wiggs officiating, and burial following in the Bailey Cemetery. Visitation 5-7pm Wednesday May 8, 2024. Arrangements are under the direction of Clary Funeral Homes.
