William “Bill” Charles Salmon passed away on May 19, 2024, in West Plains, Missouri, making his age 84 years and 5 days. He was married to Abigail “Abby” Salmon on February 2, 1963. They shared 61 years, 3 months and 17 days together.
Born in Sommerville, New Jersey to Albert and Alice Merritt Salmon on May 19, 1940, he grew up in New Jersey and Florida. He graduated high school in Stark, Florida in 1958. He met the love of his life, Abby in New Jersey in 1959, married, and later moved to Missouri in 1977. He worked many trades including machining, carpentry, real estate, insurance, and security guard, to name a few.
Bill loved fishing, woodworking, gardening, and golfing. He dearly loved spending time with his wife, Abby, family, and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Abby of Mountain View, MO; son, Mike, and wife Kendra of Fayetteville, NC; daughter, Kathleen and husband Cory of Summersville, MO; grandson, Michael Salmon of Fayetteville, NC; granddaughter, Holly Williamson fo Mountain View, MO; niece, Amber, and husband Chris; Alex and Delia; nephew, Shawn and wife Keri; Ashley Miner of Florida, brother Albert Jess Salmon of New Jersey; sister, Barb Carlson of New York; brother, Jim and wife Aggie Salmon of Mountain View; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Alice Salmon; sister, Betty Sutliff; twin brother, Harold “Dickie” Salmon; brother, Robert “Red” Salmon; and nephews, Joseph Salmon and Wayne Salmon.
A private family gathering was held at his home, and a Celebration of life will be held at a later time. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
