Former Director Of The Houston Chamber Of Commerce Arrested For Stealing Over $100,000 Of Chamber’s Money

Houston, MO. – The former director of the Houston Chamber of Commerce was arrested following an investigation into missing money and stealing in Texas County. 54-year-old Angela Quinlan is being charged with stealing $25,000 or more, one count of forgery, and one count of receiving stolen property after being accused of stealing over $100,000 of Chamber money for her personal use.

Police launched a stealing investigation in Texas County on October 17, 2022. During the investigation, which is still ongoing, police discovered that the Director of the Chamber from 2018 to 2022 had used the money for personal use. They have found over $100,000 stolen and are analyzing financial records. Police expect the amount stolen to increase.

They also found that a loan of $40,000 from one of Quinlan’s relatives that was given to the Chamber to help replace the air conditioning units that had been stolen in October of 2021 was never put into the Chamber’s accounts. Former and current Chamber members have stated they never heard of the loan and do not know where the money went. This loan document shows the Chamber’s board president’s signature on it. The president stated that he never saw the money or the document and denied signing it. They also discovered that Anglea Quinlan, acting as the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce, received a $25,900 COVID Relief Funds loan from the Small Business Administration on or after May 15, 2020. These funds have also not been accounted for.

Former and current board members stated the only reason they knew about the SBA COVID loan was because they received a letter requesting payments to be made on the loan.
