Hollister, MO. – A 6-year-old boy was killed during a boating accident after getting caught in the propeller on July 26, 2024. The unidentified boy was pronounced dead at 11:09 a.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol boating reports, the 6-year-old boy was riding on a kneeboard behind a boat that 31-year-old Bethany Roy was operating. The boy fell off the kneeboard and Roy circled back to the boy while the 6-year-old swam to the boat. While attempting to climb on, the boy was caught in the propellers of the boat while the boat was still in reverse. The accident took place on Table Rock Lake, just south of Hollister.

The next of kin was notified and the accident was investigated by Sergeant R.R. Wilkins of Troop D.
