James “Jimmie” Ellis Frye

James Ellis Frye, 90 years, 5 months, 17 days old, passed peacefully on  September 6, 2024, at his home with his family by his side.

Jimmie was born March 19, 1934, in Douglas County, Missouri to Herman Benjamin and Etta Leona (Whitacre) Frye.

 

On June 20, 1952, Jimmie and Jean Degase were united in marriage at Mtn. Home, Arkansas, and together were blessed with four children.  

 

Jimmie worked as a dairy farmer in the Squires community for years.

He enjoyed his horses, dogs, fishing, hunting, playing pool, and pitch. He loved having company and Jean would feed them all. His joy and love was being with all his family! Jimmie was known to many as “Pa”. He was a Christian and attended the Clark Church. His legacy of love and devotion will live on in those who knew him.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Donna Jean Frye, Faye Sherman, Luna White, Jack Frye, Shug Frye, and Dewayne Frye; and his granddaughter, Miya Lea Frye. 

 

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Jean; his children and their spouses, Katrice and Tim Kirlin, Jamie and Danny Dry, Robyn and Norval Tetrick, and James Ellis “Rusty” Frye II; 8 grandchildren, Tony, Landon, Benji, Brandon, Randall, Danny, Lisa, and Kiya; 18 great grandchildren; 23 great great grandchildren and one on the way; a sister, Martha Lee Marshall and John;  numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and many friends. 

          

Funeral services for Jimmie will be Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, Missouri, with burial following in the Fannon Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, September 9th from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Stan Collins and Rick Hamby. Memorials may be made to Fannon Cemetery or Clark Church.
