Defenses Shine in Houston

On Friday night the Liberty Eagles traveled to Houston to face the Tigers in the regular season finale, with a share of the SCA title on the line.  Both teams had great defensive game plans and shut each other down in key moments.  The game saw seven drives end with turn over on downs, five punts and an interception by each team.  While teams traded blows for nearly all of the 48 minutes of game time it all came down to the last play when Liberty’s Parker Tune lined up at quarterback and weaved his way on a quarterback run 46 yards to give Liberty a 6-0 win as time expired and a share of the SCA title.  Mountain Grove defeated Thayer tonight to claim the share.  Liberty and Houston both await the final district seedings to find out their opponents for the first round of district play next Friday night.
