Dorothy Lou Dye

Dorothy Lou Dye, 87 years, 9 months, and 22 days old, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024, with her family by her side.

On January 25, 1937, Dorothy was born in Red Oak, Oklahoma, to Edgar and Audrie Viola (Clary) Brown.   

 

Dorothy and Clayburn “Mike” Dye were married on November 12, 1954, in Bakersfield, California. Together they had eight children.  

 

She became a self employed seamstress for many years. Dorothy and Mike lived in the Skyline community also for many years. She was a Christian and had attended the Brushyknob Church. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her children. Her joy was spending time with her kids, grand, and great grandkids.  

 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, “Mike”; her daughter Sarah Lynn; and her siblings.

 

Dorothy is survived by her children, Tom Dye, Shirley Dye, Randy Dye, Leslie and Diane Dye,  Beverly and Gary Henson, Betty Dye, and Susie and Lonnie Cook; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; her sister, Mary; and other extended family and friends. 

          

Visitation for Dorothy will be Friday, November 22, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, Missouri then proceed to graveside at 11:30 A.M. at the Brushyknob Cemetery, Ava, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor Michael Dixon.
