Joyce Elaine Anglin, 84-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Friday, November 29, 2024. She was born July 18, 1940, in Bell City, MO, to the late Joyce Powell Weston and Lyda Bartlett Sanders.
Elaine’s passion for learning and education was reflected in her career as a Doniphan R-I Elementary School teacher. Her love for reading, particularly murder mysteries, showcased her keen intellect and curiosity as she was a sleuth trying to solve the mystery before the author revealed the answers. As a skilled seamstress and crocheter, Elaine found reward in creating beautiful, handmade items. She was a member of the Doniphan Church of Christ, where she found comfort and community in her faith.
On April 29, 1978, Elaine married Jim Anglin at the Doniphan Church of Christ Church. He survives. Also surviving is a son, Jeff (Ashley) Anglin of Poplar Bluff, MO; a bonus daughter, Jamie (Ralph) Story of Paducah, KY; and a sister, Kaye Chapman of Little Rock, AR. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Cierra, Shealyne, Madden, Cash, Hadley, and Adalyn.
In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Anglin, and a sister, Linda Carr.
Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. Her son, Brother Jeff Anglin, will be officiating. Burial will be in Hunt-White Memorial Gardens.
