Willow Springs to Test Residential Water Lines

Residents in Willow Springs will undergo testing of their water lines, similar to recent testing in West Plains, under new guidelines by the EPA. Willow Springs City Hall released the following information on Wednesday:

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently enacted new requirements as a result of drinking water issues in Flint, MI and other cities, requiring all water systems to provide a complete inventory of both public and private owned water lines. This is where your assistance is needed. The City of Willow Springs never kept records of the material used in the construction of your private water line. This portion is physically located between the City’s water meter and your home or building. The City of Willow Springs has prepared a questionnaire for completion by both residents and businesses. A paper copy is available at City Hall and a copy is also available online at https://www.willowspringsmo.com/FormCenter/Utility-Forms-7/Lead-Service-Line-Inventory-75
