Rural volunteer fire departments in Howell County recently received a donation of fire protection equipment from the Win-Bur-Sew Fire Protection District in Winnebago, Illinois, led by Chief Charles Cunningham.

Karen Smith, sister-in-law of Gary Larrow, Chief of the Pecatonica Fire Protection District, traveled to Illinois to pick up the donated items, which will now be distributed to rural volunteer fire departments throughout Howell County.
The donation highlights the strong support and teamwork that exists among fire departments across state lines and will help local volunteer firefighters continue protecting rural communities with limited resources.
