Man Arrested in Wright County on Drug and Sex Offender Charges

A Kansas City man was arrested after Wright County deputies say a traffic stop led to the discovery of methamphetamine and multiple violations. According to the probable cause statement, Deputy David House stopped a blue Hyundai Elantra on May 27 after it drove through a four‑way stop on State Highway C “without stopping or slowing.” The driver, identified as Steve Robert Green, was found to have a cancelled Arkansas license, a suspended Missouri license, and an active sex‑offender registration out of Arkansas that did not list the vehicle he was driving.

During a consent search, deputies located a scale with white powder residue in a backpack Green admitted was his. The statement notes the residue “tested positive for methamphetamine.” Additional suspected methamphetamine was found in both the driver and passenger doors. Green reportedly told deputies the bags belonged to him.

Green was taken to the Wright County Jail on $5000 bond. Green is charged with possession of a controlled substance, failure to register as a sex offender, and driving while revoked or suspended.
