An Alton man is facing multiple charges after deputies say he entered two homes without permission and was later arrested for driving while intoxicated, according to a probable cause statement filed Thursday.
Deputy James Martin wrote that 46‑year‑old Kevin L. Stewart walked into two separate residences in Alton on June 4, yelling for a resident’s daughter before falling near a retaining wall. Witnesses told deputies Stewart appeared intoxicated and left in a white Dodge Ram bearing Arkansas Electric Co‑op markings.
Officers located the truck at Fuel Express around 7:53 p.m. Stewart reportedly showed signs of impairment, failed field sobriety tests, and later produced a .225% blood‑alcohol content on a breath test. Deputies say he had also trespassed at both homes earlier in the evening.
Stewart is charged with DWI and two counts of first‑degree trespassing, classified as criminal mischief in the charging request. His bond was set at $2,500.
