Janet Marie Moritz, 87, of Cabool, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on June 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Janet was born on October 21, 1938, in Woodland, California. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose greatest joy in life was her family. On June 26, 1965, she married the love of her life, Rodney H. Moritz, and together they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.
As a homemaker, Janet dedicated her life to caring for her family and creating a warm and welcoming home for all who entered. She was known for her kindness, generous spirit, and ability to make everyone feel loved and accepted. Janet especially enjoyed traveling and cherished the many adventures and memories made along the way.
Janet is survived by her children, Anna Moritz, Joseph Moritz, Thomas McKinney, Michael McKinney, Elizabeth Contreras, and Catherine McKinney. She also leaves behind 23 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her love, wisdom, and unwavering support.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Rodney H. Moritz & daughter Barbara Carboni.
Janet’s family will forever remember her ornery smile, her loving heart, and the way she always welcomed family and friends with open arms. Her legacy of faith, love, strength, and devotion will live on through the many lives she touched.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that her love remains with them always and that her memory will be cherished for generations to come.
