IZARD COUNTY, Ark. — Izard County Sheriff Charley Melton is advising residents to carefully review any solicitation letters they receive after a mailing reportedly circulated regarding the sheriff’s office and the alleged release of violent illegal aliens.
Melton said he has been made aware of a letter some residents have received concerning himself and Izard County. According to the sheriff, the letter appears to be a solicitation seeking money for an individual or group to investigate the matter.
“The Izard County Sheriff’s Office is in compliance with Arkansas Act 654 of 2025 regarding this matter,” Melton said. “There have been no violent illegal aliens released by this office.”
Melton said he is not familiar with the individual or organization behind the mailing and cannot speak to its validity or intentions.
“As always, I encourage citizens to carefully research any organization before providing personal information or sending money,” Melton said.
