A Carter County man was killed and three others were seriously injured in a two‑vehicle crash Tuesday night on U.S. 60 inside Ellsinore. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash happened at 9:29 p.m. when a southbound 2022 Chevrolet Silverado failed to yield and was struck by an eastbound 2006 Chevrolet Colorado.
The Colorado’s driver, a 35‑year‑old man from Ellsinore, was pronounced dead at the scene by Carter County Coroner Joe Chatman. A 40‑year‑old female passenger in his vehicle was flown to St. Louis University Hospital with serious injuries.
Two people in the Silverado, a 57‑year‑old male driver and a 51‑year‑old female passenger from Mountain View, were also seriously injured. They were transported to hospitals in Poplar Bluff and Springfield.
Troop G says this marks its 14th fatality of the year, compared to 16 at this time in 2025.
