Izard County Sheriff’s Office reminds public not to use email for emergencies

IZARD COUNTY, Ark. — The Izard County Sheriff’s Office is reminding the public to use proper contact methods when reporting emergencies, requesting law enforcement assistance or sharing information that needs immediate attention.

According to the sheriff’s office, several emails have been received over the last few weeks through the Crime Tip Submission page and the Contact Us tab on the department’s website regarding situations that needed immediate attention.

Officials said emails and website contact forms may not be seen in a timely manner and should not be relied on for emergencies, law enforcement assistance or information that requires immediate investigation.

The sheriff’s office said the Contact Us tab is intended for general questions and non-emergency information. The Crime Tip Submission page should be used for non-emergency crime tips or information regarding the whereabouts of wanted individuals.

Anyone who needs to report a crime, request a deputy or report an emergency in Izard County should call 911 or 870-368-4203, Extension 0.

Officials said using the appropriate method of contact helps ensure information is received and addressed as quickly as possible.
