William “Bill” Flood

Morgan William “Bill” Flood, Sr., age 92, passed away on June 20, 2026, at his home in Willow Springs, Missouri. He was born on November 6, 1933, in Mountain View, Missouri, to Morgan Washington and Edith Evelyn (Hoskins) Flood.

On August 15, 1959, in Reno, Nevada, he married Geneva Colbert. Together, they raised five children: Bill, Sonja, Judi, Shelli, and Laura.

Bill was a hard worker and a wonderful provider who loved and cared for his family. When he was nine, his dad started the business, Flood Ice and Coal, and Bill continued to run it until it closed.

He was a mason in good standing for 50 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved camping with his wife. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and took great pride in his garden and yard.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Morgan and Edith Flood; sister, Nancy Frommell; daughter, Laura Flood; and great-grandson, Ricky A. Maggard.

He is survived by his children, Bill Simmons of Kingston, MO, Sonja Wages and husband, Shane of West Plains, MO, Judi Henderson and husband, David of Willow Springs, MO, and Shelli Coale of Willow Springs; 13 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
