WEST PLAINS, MISSOURI- Lauren Willis has been named the new Director of Student Support Services for Missouri State University- West Plains’ ASCEND Program.
Willis has been a valued member of The MSU-West Plains Community Since 2021 and has been instrumental in both the growth and development of the University’s counseling program. According to the University, Willis’ commitment to student success as well as her student-centered approach has helped students ensure they have access to availible resourses makes her a wonderful addition to the ASCEND Program. Willis also believes student support services empowers students to better focus on educational goals and achieve overall well-being.
The ASCEND Nuerodiversity & Autism Program supports students with unique talents and disabilities by enouraging them to foster self-confidence, self advocacy, and independence. These tools combined with individualized and evidence based stratagies help these students better adapt to the academic and social challenges of college life. The program has been active at Missouri State University- West Plains Since 2022 along with the additon of the new ASCEND Building in 2025.
