Ozarks Healthcare Foundation Provides Cooling Vest to Help Patient

WEST PLAINS, MO – For Quincy Riley, spending time outdoors is one of the things he enjoys most. Thanks to a gift from the Ozarks Healthcare Foundation, he can now spend more time enjoying the fresh air and sunshine while staying safer in the summer heat.

Riley, an Ozarks Healthcare Therapies patient living with a traumatic brain injury, recently received a specialized cooling vest through the Ozarks Healthcare Foundation. The vest is designed to help regulate body temperature, allowing Riley greater comfort and safety while participating in outdoor activities.

“It’s what I love doing most,” Riley said when talking about being outdoors.

For Riley, the cooling vest represents more than a piece of equipment. It provides an opportunity to participate in activities that bring him joy while supporting his continued therapy and quality of life.

“These are the kinds of moments that demonstrate the meaningful difference Foundation support can make in the lives of our patients,” Josh Reeves, Ozarks Healthcare Vice President of Development and Advocacy, said. “A cooling vest may seem like a simple gift, but for Quincy, it means more opportunities to get outside, enjoy the things he loves, and experience greater independence. We are grateful to our donors who make it possible for us to respond to the individual needs of patients in our community.”

The Ozarks Healthcare Foundation supports programs, equipment, and patient needs that may not otherwise be possible through traditional healthcare funding. Donations help the Foundation provide resources that enhance patient care and quality of life throughout the Ozarks Healthcare service area.

Community members interested in supporting patients like Quincy can make a donation to the Ozarks Healthcare Foundation. Every gift helps provide compassionate support and resources that can make a meaningful difference in a patient’s journey.
