High Heat Drives Reappearance of Burn Bans in Arkansas

Arkansas – The high temperatures and dry conditions in the Ozarks recently are starting to cause the reappearance of burn bans to be taking place in Arkansas, with several local counties activating said bans.

According to the Arkansas Department of Agriculture map, burn bans in the immediate area include those in Fulton, Sharp, and Stone Counties.

While Baxter, Izard, and Marion Counties do not currently have a burn ban in effect, wildfire danger levels remain elevated at a high (3/4) level.

Until conditions improve, observe active burn bans where applicable, and exercise strong caution when burning where allowed.
