Two people were injured Saturday evening in a collision involving an ATV and a motorcycle northeast of Ellsinore. The crash happened at 6:40 p.m. on State Route N, about half a mile from town, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Troopers report a 2014 Harley‑Davidson Sportster, driven eastbound by a 30‑year‑old Ellsinore man, and a westbound 2003 Kawasaki KFX 400 operated by a 16‑year‑old Ellsinore juvenile met near the center line on a blind curve. Investigators say the motorcycle lost control, overturned, crossed the center of the roadway, and struck the ATV. Both vehicles then traveled off the left side of the road and overturned, ejecting both drivers.
The juvenile driver of the ATV sustained moderate injuries and was transported by East Carter County EMS to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. The motorcycle driver also suffered moderate injuries and was taken by Butler County EMS to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
