Middle Fork Access Green Water Thought to be Dye or Algae

Thomasville, MO. – Yesterday morning, a scare for local residents in Oregon County took place as the water at the Middle Fork Access point near the Thomasville Slab was found a bright green color.

Law enforcement were made aware of the situation as a local made a call to the Sheriff’s Department. The Oregon County Commissioner’s Office and the Oregon County Emergency Management Agency were then on-location to investigate. Photos were taken at 8am and 10:30am, showing that the color had already dissipated. Officials suspect the color was caused by either a dye pack or by an algae bloom.

As of this time, the location has been deemed safe, however, a full report of a water sample has been requested to be analyzed by the Department of Natural Resources.
