Lisa A. Upton, age 62, passed away peacefully at her home on August 17, 2026. Lisa was born in Heidelberg, Germany, while her father was stationed there with the U.S. Military. She later made her home in the beautiful Ozarks, where she enjoyed the outdoors and the peaceful beauty of nature.
Lisa loved wildlife, sitting beside her koi pond, camping, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and spending time outside enjoying the Ozarks. She had a deep appreciation for nature though grasshoppers were the one exception, as she was terribly afraid of them. She also loved her cat, Sunny.
Lisa worked at the West Plains Shoe Factory until it closed. She later worked at Arlee’s and then at Regal Beloit, where she remained until her retirement.
In 1996, Lisa married the love of her life, Richard James Upton, in Willow Springs.
She is survived by her daughters, Samantha (Troy) Osborn Wadkins and Tabitha (Chase) Uchtman; her grandchildren, Aiden and Elijah Uchtman; her brother and sister, Rick Skaggs and Judy Ford; her best friend, Joy Skaggs; dear friend, Sharon Bode; her brothers-in-law, Randy Upton, Ronnie Upton and Billy Upton; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orvil and Sara Skaggs, husband, Richard James Upton, on November 13, 2009, and by her granddaughter, Bailey.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be determined.
