Two Ellington women were seriously injured Monday in a head‑on collision on Highway 21, five miles south of Ellington, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Troopers report a northbound 2019 Chevrolet Spark crossed the center line of Highway 21, five miles south of Ellington, and struck a southbound 2018 Chevrolet Equinox. Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene.

The drivers, ages 68 and 86, were airlifted to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis for treatment.
