The City of Thayer has announced dates for its annual Fall Cleanup, giving residents a chance to dispose of unwanted household items at no cost. The cleanup will run October 17–25, with a roll‑off dumpster available at the city’s Street Department.
City officials note that the service is for Thayer residential trash customers only, and businesses are not eligible. There will be no curbside pickup; all items must be brought directly to the dumpster.
Several materials are prohibited, including chemicals, paint, tires, shingles, batteries, and electronics. Residents are encouraged to follow the guidelines and help keep the community clean by disposing of acceptable items responsibly.
The city says the cleanup program is an important part of maintaining community appearance and reducing illegal dumping.
