A Celebration of Life for Alexander John Thorn, Age 37 of Ava, Missouri will be held on Saturday, October 10th, 2025 at The Ava General Baptist Church, Ava, Missouri, beginning at 3:00 PM.

Alexander John Thorn, 37 years and 4 days old, passed away unexpectedly at home on October 3, 2026.
Alex was born on September 29, 1989 in San Francisco to James and Mende Thorn. The family moved back to Missouri for a short time and then moved to Florida where he resided until 2017, when he moved back to Missouri to be closer to his parents.
Alex had a deep love of art and music and shared that joy with everyone around him. Alex was an incredible athlete. He excelled as a goalie and was named as one of the best in the state of Florida. He also dedicated many years to his martial art practice, earning a second-degree black belt. He graduated in 2008 from Clearwater High School in Clearwater, Florida and attended St. Petersburg College. He had a successful career in telecommunications.
His heart and focus were always on his family. He was a devoted son and brother whose life was marked by love, laughter, and a gentle light that will remain in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be deeply missed, tenderly remembered, and forever loved.
Alex is survived by his parents, James and Mende; his twin brother Zachary; his younger brother Benjamin; his grandfather Stanton Kissee and his cat Pina. His loss is mourned by his extended family and friends.
Alexander was preceded in death by his grandmother, Janet Kay Carder.
