David Brent Reece, 76, of Cabool, Missouri was born June 2, 1950 to Norman Reece and Ruth (Wood) Caldwell. He passed away October 6, 2026 in Cabool, Missouri. In his younger days David attended Cabool High School and graduated in 1968. He later traveled throughout the country to work various jobs becoming a jack of all trades. He then went on to marry his wife Tien Xuan (Luu) Reece in 2001.
David loved anything to do with the outdoors, one of his favorite hobbies being fishing. As he got to about retirement age David would often be seen fishing anywhere he could. He may have not loved to eat fish, but his wife did, and came to be one of his main motivators. David also worked in construction for many years and developed a love for building and having his own projects even outside of that. One of his longtime projects was a trucking company he ran into the early 2010s. He was an active participant in his community oftentimes going and playing pool with his newfound friends at the Cabool Senior Center. On the off chance he wasn’t there he was more than likely mowing the lawn or helping his wife lovingly in the garden. As he got older he was focused on enjoying the simple life with his family and taking in the little things.
David lived alongside his wife, Tien Xuan Reece; his sister, Deanna Reece; his sister in law, Nhung Luu; his brother in law, Gary Kuhn; his children, David L. Reece and Lakaya L. Reece; his daughter in law, Ruth E. Reece; his niece, Angie Johnson; his grandchildren, Megean, Chastity, and Hunter Reece; his great grandchild, Sloan Randall; and his great niece and nephew, Marshall and Mackenzie. He is also preceded by several other family members as well.
Through exhaustion and grit David fought in his last days and weeks to improve his health for the sake of his loved ones. His determination and heart throughout his journey is sure to never be forgotten. David was an amazing husband, father, and friend to all. May he rest in eternal peace just as all those before him.
