Fox Trotters riding for a cause in pink

CHADWICK, Mo. —  The Douglas County Fox Trotting Horse Breeders Association held its annual “Pink Ride” October 3rd and raised $630.00 for Breast Cancer Research.

Twenty four riders, most clothed and decorated in pink, gathered at DCFTHBA member Carol Kutsko’s farm near Chadwick, MO, and rode some beautiful oak and pine fringed trails of the East Bar K system in an 8,488 acre area of the Mark Twain National Forest. After about a 2 and a half hour ride, the group gathered at Carol’s home for snacks and fellowship among members and friends.

DCFTHBA schedules approximately 50 organized rides each year. Usually, at least two are fundraisers for causes like Breast Cancer and Childhood Hunger. Douglas County Foxtrotters was organized in 1998 to celebrate and promote the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse developed here in the Ozarks, but anyone and any breed of horses and mules are welcome to join their rides.
