Funeral Services for James Jackson Deckard, Age 55 of Springfield, Missouri (formerly of Seymour, Missouri) will be held on Tuesday, October 27th, 2026 at The Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Missouri, beginning at 2:00 PM. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place in The Walnut Grove Cemetery, Douglas County, Missouri.
James Jackson Deckard, 55 years, 10 months, 24 days old, passed away on October 22, 2026.
James was born November 28, 1970 in Springfield, Missouri, to James Cornelison and Shirley Deckard.
On October 26, 1996, James and Paula Spencer were united in marriage in Seymour, Missouri. Together they had four children.
James was a Nascar fan and enjoyed working on cars and listening to classic country music. He liked to bar-b-q and spend time at the lake. What he enjoyed most, however, was being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Paula; his parents, James and Shirley.
James is survived by his children, Sara Parish, Rebecca Deyo, Austin Deckard and his wife Abby, and Wyatt Deckard; grandchildren, Charleigh, Wyette, Braedyn, Emberlynn, Mason, Jasmine, Jack, and one on the way; his brothers, Jeff Deckard, Joe Deckard, Josh Mayberry, Jason Mayberry, and Justin Mayberry; his loving girlfriend of five years, Pam Maggard; many relatives and friends.
