IZARD COUNTY, AR β A Pineville man already out on felony bond is facing new felony charges after allegedly threatening multiple individuals with a shotgun and a hatchet while intoxicated.
On March 27, 2025, around 5:45 p.m., Izard County deputies responded to reports of a man threatening people with weapons near the 3400 block of Dolph Road. Witnesses told dispatchers the suspect was on a side-by-side ATV in a nearby field.
Deputies arrived to find 45-year-old Simon Ducker, who was detained without incident after briefly approaching the officer. A shotgun was secured from the ATV.
According to the probable cause statement released by the Sheriff’s Department, Ducker made alarming and threatening statements, including repeated suggestions of violence. One victim claimed Ducker pointed a shotgun at his vehicle and later armed himself with a hatchet, advancing toward a residence before being pushed away.
A female resident reported that Ducker, who initially identified himself with a false name, entered her home uninvited, made unwanted physical contact, and lingered around her property despite being asked to leave. She stated she did not know Ducker and had not invited him over to plant flowers, contrary to his claims.
Ducker, who showed signs of heavy intoxication, was found to be more than twice the legal limit during a breath test. He later denied the allegations during a post-Miranda interview but admitted to making poor decisions, saying, βIt was my bad and I was guilty.β
At the time of the incident, Ducker was out on bond for prior charges including DWI, possession of a controlled substance, and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. That bond has now been revoked.
Ducker faces new charges including two counts of aggravated assault, terroristic threatening, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and driving on a suspended license. He remains innocent until proven guilty in court.
