Marion County, AR — The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has released its weekly activity report for the week ending April 25, 2025, highlighting the department’s continued dedication to serving and protecting the community.
During the past week, deputies responded to seventy-seven (77) calls for service. Among these were five (5) wellness checks and one (1) domestic incident. Deputies also made six (6) misdemeanor arrests and one (1) felony arrest. In addition, they assisted or worked on four (4) traffic accidents and completed seventeen (17) incident reports. The Sheriff’s Office provided twenty-five (25) hours of bailiff duty for the courts during this time.
Investigators with the department remained active, opening one (1) and closing one (1) felony investigation, as well as opening and closing one (1) misdemeanor investigation. They conducted fourteen (14) interviews and served one (1) search warrant, assisting the Bull Shoals Police Department in a murder investigation. Investigators also completed three (3) investigative conferences with the Deputy Prosecuting Attorney.
Professional development continued as one (1) Investigator, two (2) Deputies, and the Jail Administrator attended an eight-hour Supervisor Boot Camp hosted by the Arkansas Association of Counties in Little Rock, contributing a total of thirty-two (32) hours of training.
At the Marion County Detention Center, eighteen (18) individuals were booked, nineteen (19) were released, and the facility ended the week with a total inmate population of forty-three (43).
In addition to the weekly activity, the Sheriff’s Office proudly announced the promotion of Deputy Brett Castle to the rank of Corporal. Corporal Castle began his career with the Marion County Sheriff’s Department in September 2017 and graduated from the Central Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in June 2018. Since 2020, he has also served as the department’s K9 Handler. His unwavering consistency, dependability, and dedication to duty have made him a valued member of the team.
