Spring is officially in full swing, and with it comes spring festivals! Three are taking place within the listening area, giving you multiple choices if you want to find a local event.
North-to-south, the first event is the Emmett Kelly Clown Festival in Houston, Missouri. This yearly event took a hiatus, but returned a few years ago and now brings a celebration of the history of clowns, and of this famous individual who resided in Houston. This event begins today, and will continue tomorrow. It can be found in the downtown area.
Next up is OzCon, which also begins today at the West Plains Civic Center. The Ozarks Gaming Convention celebrates all things nerd culture, with cosplay, video games, anime, tabletop and board games, merchandise, and even famous individuals! This year’s theme is all about the paranormal, and The Discovery Channel’s “Ghost Hunters” will be this years guests. This is a three-day event and will continue through Sunday.
Lastly, pie lovers should head to Cherokee Village, Arkansas, for the Arkansas Pie Festival. A love letter to all things baked, this yearly event includes a cornucopia of confections, a 5k, vendors, and many contests all about pies. This will happen tomorrow, April 26th, from 10am to 3pm.
