Due to his owner’s declining health, they are sadly no longer able to continue caring for Onyx and have reached out for help finding him the right home.
Onyx is an energetic, playful boy who would do best with someone who is comfortable handling a hyper, active dog and will give him plenty of playtime, attention, and patience.
About Onyx:
• Neutered through Ozarks Pet Rescue on August 10th
• Brought current on vaccinations
• Loves attention and loves to play
• Gets along with most dogs, but he will defend himself if another dog challenges him
• Doesn’t seem to mind cats
• Will chase squirrels and other small critters
• Used to sleeping **indoors at night in his crate
• Can sometimes get spooked by new or unfamiliar things
• Afraid of gunshots and fireworks
• Unknown with children because he hasn’t been around them
His owner also has a **new harness and shock-resistant leash** that will go with him.
Onyx has done very well with our team, including riding on our transport bus. He just needs the right person who understands his energy and can give him the structure, patience, exercise, and love he deserves.
This is a difficult decision for his owner, who wants to make sure Onyx is safe and cared for as their health declines.
