Mountain View, MO. – For those interested in the idea that there is life beyond our place in the cosmos, the Buck Nelson Festival in 2024 is going to be held over the same weekend that a total solar eclipse will be passing over Mountain View in April 2024.
The Buck Nelson Festival will be held April 5-8th and will be hosted by the Mtn. View Family Youth Center. The festival celebrates Buck Nelson, a Mountain View farmer who claimed to be abducted by aliens in 1954, later authoring My Trip to Mars, the Moon, and Venus.
During the festival, a Cosmic Art show will be held with a Cosmic Light show on April 8th. The event will also hold a costume contest, lighted parade, a 5k run on April 7th, A STE(A)M contest during the event, and Buck Nelson Reenactment.
All funds raised by the festival will go to local youth non-profits.
