Houston, MO. –Two central Missouri men were arrested Saturday morning following a report of assault at a home on Mounty Drive in Licking.
Licking Police responded to a call of an assault and burglary that occurred on the morning of August 26, 2023. Three victims reported that they were awoken by two men, later identified as Braiden Spangler, age 21 of Camdenton, and Kaiden Weyant, age 21 of Jefferson City, striking them with a blunt object and empty hand strikes.
Deputies with the Texas County Sheriff’s Office contacted Spangler and Weyant. During the interview, authorities say the suspects admitted to entering the residence, armed with a stick, and assaulted the victims.
Both men were charged with 1st-degree burglary, 2nd-degree assault, and armed criminal action. The men are currently being held in the Texas County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
