Ava, MO. – The Humane Society of Missouri reported that 43 starving dogs were rescued from a property in rural Douglas County on October 18, 2023.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office served a warrant to removed the dogs from the property and the Humane Society’s Animal Cruelty Task Force collected 43 Shiba Inu from the property. The remains of nine deceased dogs were also found on the property. KY3-TV reported that one of the 43 rescued dogs died shortly after.
