Pottsville, AR. – A Baxter County man is dead after colliding with a cable that knocked him from his motorcycle during police pursuit on Sunday, July 16th.
The time of the crash was 10:45am and the location was 282 Rush Road in Pottsville, a town in Pope County, AR. The deceased rider was 52-year-old Don Bird, a resident of Yellville, AR.
According to the report from the Arkansas State Police, Bird was fleeing law enforcement on a Moto Guzzi, and weather conditions were clear and dry. Bird was removed from the motorcycle when he failed to see a cable stretched across a private driveway he was driving into, and collided with it.
Bird sustained fatal injuries during the incident. The investigating officer of this crash was Corporal William J. Crabb of the Arkansas State Police.
