West Plains, MO. – On April 6, 2024, The ” 5K at Galloway Run or Walk- Eclipse Edition” will be taking place at 8 a.m.
Hirsch Feed and Farm Supply are sponsoring the 5K run with additional support from the Wood & Houston Bank. Registration for the run will start at 6:30 a.m. that morning with the award ceremony taking place at 9 a.m. The cost of participation is $35 per person and this provides each runner with a t-shirt, water bottle, cooling towel, and a custom medal. There will be prizes for males and females within the age groups ranging from 9 and under, 10-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 70 and up.
This is just one of the many events during the Party in the Path events. On April 5th, they have 38 Special and Ozark Mountain Daredevils playing at a concert at the West Plains Civic Center and a Dark Sky + Yellow House stand-up comedy show at Yellow House. On April 6th, besides the 5K race, there is a Pancake Breakfast at the Civic Center and the Sunshine Festival. The Sunshine Festival will feature food trucks, vendors selling goods, and food trucks, a beer garden, and multiple activities on the east side of the Civic Center. On the 6th there will also be The Neon Parade with the Budweiser Clydesdales, the Journey Stagecoach on display, and a Cosmic Children’s Carnival. On April 7th there is a Dodgeball Tournament with CASA, Live music featuring Fender Bender and Ha Ha Tonka, and there will be food vendors and fireworks down at the fairground. Then to finish this all off, on April 8th there will be food trucks set up at the West Plains Civic Center and the Fairgrounds, Total Eclipse of the Heart Weddings, the Dawson Hollow Concert, an Eclipse Blackout Party, and then finally the total eclipse where there will be 3 minutes and 4 seconds of complete blackness.
