A Decade of Silver Dollar City Capital Investments of $100 Million 2010-2020

60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Celebrates New Area, Adventure Water Ride & Full Playbill of Top Entertainment

Kicking off 2020 as the capping of a $100-million-dollar-decade, Silver Dollar City officials are actively preparing for the 2020 season, embarking on a 60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee.  The internationally-acclaimed 1880s-style theme park in Branson, Missouri begins celebrating six decades of providing family entertainment in the Ozarks by announcing an extensive list of entertainment offerings for 2.2 million annual guests.

The 2020 slate includes a whole new area of a town in celebration, a new BBQ restaurant, and a best-in-class water adventure ride designed to honor the great cave on site, the Registered National Landmark, Marvel Cave. Plus the 1880s-style theme park’s world-class festivals are adding big names in entertainment, new food offerings including a home-style cinnamon bread bakery and new taste creations.  Additionally, crowned by Congress as The Home of American Craftsmanship a decade ago, the City’s crafts colony continues to build on a well-earned handcrafted legacy.

“We continuously listen to our guests.  Our guests let us know what they love and what they do not like.  Our plans for new attractions, shows and festivals continue to be based on guest research,” said Brad Thomas, President of Silver Dollar City Attractions. “During this last decade, we presented many fun and exciting additions.  We anticipate this next decade will be even more exciting with even larger and bolder announcements and additions.”

Silver Dollar City officials confirm that capital investments from 2010-2020 are reaching $100 million this coming season.  Coming in 2020 is the nearly $30 million all-new area of Rivertown, including the new Mystic River Falls and the Rivertown Smokehouse.

Thomas says it’s Silver Dollar City’s belief in regional tourism that’s allowing this long-time Ozark Mountain theme park to become a true force in the worldwide amusements industry.  Defining the destination as Branson/Southwest Missouri and Northwest Arkansas, officials say attendance and research show that the area’s strong promise of providing wholesome, quality family entertainment is meeting and, in many cases, exceeding, guest expectations.

Coming off several years of record-breaking attendance, Thomas said, “These are exciting times for the Silver Dollar City brand.  While we celebrate our 60 year past, we are VERY excited about the future.   While we have fun new additions in the works, this remains constant: Silver Dollar City will continue to be a park focused on fun for families while still providing adventures and entertainment for adult couples. As we celebrate our 60th Anniversary, this proclamation could not be truer: Our Greatest Adventures Lie Ahead.”
