Izard County, AR. – An all-too-familiar scam has made its way south of Missouri and into Arkansas, targeting Arkansans in Izard County, according to a recent announcement from their Sheriff’s Department.
This scam takes the form of the scammer impersonating an officer with local law enforcement, and talks about the danger of an active arrest warrant on the victim, before then trying to convince the victim to give them gift cards or a money order.

Law enforcement do not call to ask for payments over the phone, and as always, the best way to ensure a call is legitimate is to hang up, call your local law enforcement agency, and confirm if any standing warrants exist.
