Benefit Rodeo To Be Held This Weekend To Support 11-Year-Old In Crash

Mammoth Spring, AR./Thayer, MO. – A benefit rodeo, called Buckin’ for Bentli, is being held this weekend to raise funds for medical expenses. 

Tomorrow, September 21, 2024, a benefit rodeo will be held for 11-year-old Bentli Gifford, who was involved in an ATV accident on August 7. After spending more than three weeks in the hospital, Gifford’s medical bills have been accumulating. All proceeds from the rodeo will go towards paying these expenses. Admission is $10 for adults, while children 12 and under can attend for $5.

The rodeo will take place at the Mammoth Spring/Thayer Saddle Club Arena in Thayer, Missouri. Gates open at 4 p.m., with barrel racing beginning at 6 p.m. and bull riding scheduled for 8 p.m. The major events include:

  • Peewee Barrels (ages 10 and under)
  • JR Barrels (ages 11 to 15)
  • Open Barrels (ages 15 and up)
  • Walk-Trot Bulls (ages 3 to 5)
  • Peewee Bulls (ages 6 to 8)
  • JR Mini Bulls (ages 9 to 11)
  • SR Mini Bulls (ages 12 to 14)
  • Pro-Am Bulls
