Alton, MO. – As we all know, as money gets tighter year-over-year, and participation from the public shrinks, many fire departments are feeling the pressure. With many looking for new ways to maintain their force and equipment, many look to specific grants, such as in the case of the Alton Fire Department, who received one such grant.
The AFD has received a $10,000 grant in a joint effort from Alton Bank and FHLB Des Moines. Officials with the city have expressed their sincere gratitude toward the organizations, as this money is intended to go toward much needed fire suppression equipment.
This is not the only grant awarded in connection with FHLB Des Moines, with further examples of recipients being Boys & Girls Club of West Plains, and the Howell County Public Housing Authority.
