Ava woman charged with child sex trafficking crimes to stand trial in December

West Plains, Mo. – The Ava woman charged with sex crimes involving children will go to trial in December. Shawna Ross has a jury trial set for December 11 to 14. A venue for the trial is scheduled to be selected on May 17.

Ross is charged with two counts of statutory sodomy with a person under 14 years of age, two counts of statutory rape with a person under 14 years of age, and two counts of trafficking for the purposes of sexual exploitation.

Ross, Robert Atherton, and Harold Blair were all charged with multiple crimes after photos of children performing various sexual acts were found in Blair’s former residence in Ava during its demolition on December 7, 2022.
