Baxter County Sheriff’s Foundation Received Donations From Residents For New Body Armor

Mountain Home, AR. – The Baxter County Sheriff’s Foundation recently received donations from two Mountain Home residents for body armor.

This donation allowed the Baxter County Sheriff’s Department to purchase two new body armor vests for their deputies. Residents Carl F. Edwards and Sharon Stevens-Edwards, in a show of support for law enforcement and for the safety of their deputies, each donated $1,000 to the Sheriff’s Foundation.

It is recommended that the armor vests be replaced every five years. In a press release, Sheriff John Montgomery stated, “The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office is very appreciative of Mr. and Mrs. Edwards for their donations and also for all the years of support and encouragement that the Sheriff’s Foundation has provided to our law enforcement mission.”

The Baxter County Sheriff’s Foundation, Inc. is a domestic non-profit corporation that was formed in 2009. Its purpose is to provide financial support to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office and its employees beyond what is available and budgets by the county government. The Foundation is governed by nine members made up of civic-minded volunteers from within the community. All donations are tax deductible.
