Christmas Day Crash Injures Four West Plains Residents

West Plains, Mo. – An early morning crash on Christmas injures three men and a woman from West Plains. The crash occurred on US 63, five miles north of West Plains at 3:55 a.m. according to the Highway Patrol report.

An eastbound 2007 Dodge Charger driven by Charles Coats, 43, failed to yield and pulled in front of a 2012 Toyota Yaris driven by 38-year-old Natasha Derryberry.

The crash totaled both vehicles and seriously injured Derryberry and her passenger Billy McKinney, 48. Derryberry was taken by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare and McKinney was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. 

Coats suffered minor injuries and his passenger Ricky Brewer, 44, received moderate injuries. Coats sought his own medical treatment and Brewer was taken to Ozarks Healthcare by ambulance.
