Ava, MO. – A man from Douglas County is facing multiple felony charges from a grand jury indictment that was issued on July 24th.
This indictment stems from an event on June 5th, where the Sheriff, a corporal, and a detective followed up on information of a physical altercation. During the event, it was found that 59-year-old Mark Springer of Squires, MO. had struck another man with a pipe.
The victim had dash cam footage of the event that showed the altercation, and that Springer had approached the victim in a threatening manner which started the altercation. Both individuals left the scene of their own volition without medical assistance.
On August 3rd, Springer called the Sheriff’s Office after learning of his indictment, and asked for a ride to the jail, where he remains in custody. Springer’s charges include Felony 1st Degree Domestic Assault, two counts of Felony Armed Criminal Action, and Felony 1st Degree Robbery. Bond is set at $50,000 with the condition of having no contact with the victim(s).
