Dozens of DoC Workers Urging Governor to Halt Execution of Inmate

Potosi, MO. – A man in the Potosi Correctional Center is scheduled for execution, and upwards of 60 Department of Corrections workers are urging Governor Mike Parson to grant clemency to what they are calling a “model inmate”.

The inmate is Brian Dorsey, a 51-year-old man who was incarcerated after being convicted of killing his cousin, Sarah Bonnie, and her husband Ben in 2006.

Prison staff, including a former warden have come to Dorsey’s defense, claiming he was shown respect to both staff and other prisoners, and is even allowed to serve as a barber within the prison.

The attorney for Dorsey alleges that Dorsey was under a drug pychosis at the time of the crime and was incapable of deliberating or having the intent required for capital murder.
