West Plains, MO. – An elderly Birch Tree woman was killed on Saturday morning after being hit by a trailer. The accident occurred at 9:58 a.m. Saturday Morning on County Road 670 according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
Mary P. Lakey, age 83 of Birch Tree, was struck by a gooseneck trailer being pulled by a pickup driven by Norvil Lakey, age 84 of Birch Tree. Norvil was not harmed in the crash.

This is the 19th fatality for MSHP Troop G in 2022, compared to 18 at the same time in 2021.
Currently, there are no charges being sought in the death.
