Intoxicated Driver Injured in One-Vehicle Crash Near Houston Friday Night

Houston, MO. – An Elk Creek man was injured in a one-vehicle crash Friday night. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred at 5:30 p.m. on September 9 on Highway B, four miles east of Houston, Missouri.

An eastbound 2008 Mercury Mariner driven by Michael Morgan, age 42 of Elk Creek, ran off the right side of the roadway and struck pipe fencing. The impact from the fence caused the vehicle to spin and travel across the left side of the road before coming to a stop.

Morgan was charged with Driving while Intoxicated (Drugs), Careless & Imprudent Driving Involving a Crash, & no Seatbelt. He was released to be taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital to be treated for moderate injuries sustained in the accident.
